By Francis Tunwase

In today’s financial landscape, learning how to be smart with your money isn’t just an opinion  – it’s a necessity. Rising inflation, worsening economic conditions, and many more bleak outlooks have shown that anyone looking to make the most out of their finances will need to find ways to ensure that they keep their spending out of control.

Looking to capitalize on this trend, several platforms and apps have joined the growing financial trend. However, the fact that you have different apps that help you to track your spending doesn’t mean that you should choose each one. Financial experts have been able to find which apps help you to keep a good eye on your spending, and you can find them here.

Mint: The Best Free App

We all love freebies. And, if you want to make sure that you optimize your cash savings at every point while keeping a good eye on your finances, then Mint is what you need.

While it doesn’t have as many features as some of the options on our list, it is an awesome choice if you have moderate experience and would like something simple and affordable.

Goodbudget: Great For Beginners

We all need to start tracking our expenses at some point. And, with Goodbudget, you have an app that easily allows you to do that.

With 20 free envelopes, Goodbudger provides a great bang for your buck and walks you through every step as a newbie financial tracker. You’ll need to upgrade to Goodbudget Plus to get more features, but this platform does well on its basic level.

YNAB: Best For Optimal Tracking

The entire point of keeping an eye on your spending is to ensure that you can track every single detail. This is where YNAB comes in.

Short for “You Need A Budget,” YNAB is one of the most popular tracking apps available. It might be a bit pricier than some of the other apps out there, but you get a 34-day free trial and a smooth onboarding process. So, all in all, the app is definitely worth it.
